I have two laptops, with wireless connectivity through a Linksys router. One works (I'm using to write this) and the other used to work. One day it just stopped linking up with the router. At first, the message it would give me was "limited or no connectivity." Then I played with some settings and now it says that it's connected, but i get no internet access, no email, etc. I've searched high and low for answers. Any thoughts on how i could fix this issue.

uh... could be a lot of things. are you using internet explorer?

edit: the reason i was asking is because it can do that annoying thing where it gets stuck on 'work offline'...

open internet explorer, select tools, make sure work offline is UNchecked.

oh, and welcome to the forums.

i agree, could be a lot of things
yeah, I say first try opening the command prompt and typing:
    ping www.google.com
and press enter to execute it
see if the report says the packets are lost or not

    if they are...
first thing to try I'd say is check what your wireless card is (model), and download new drivers with your working laptop and install those on your notebook with the bogus wireless.

Also try checking your security setting and wireless manager make sure that only one is doing the connecting WZC or your wireless card.

I recommend you type in the command line ipconfig /release and then ipconfig /renew.

If that doesn't work then try resetting your IP stack with this handy tool. Is this XP or Vista, btw? Although I think it works on both.
