i have a dell laptop with broadcom dw1390 wireless card. (computer purchased new 4/11/06)

my old netgear router went bad - replaced with netgear rangemax wpn824v3.

shows signal is strong exellant - but internet is slower than with old router - will not load some pages fully. Plug in hard wire and works great.

do i need to change to netgear recommended wireless adapter?

other laptop in house and 2 pc's run great

    thanks in advance

Make sure your drivers are up todate. If your running WEP or WPA tkip, try changing to WPA(2) Personal AES security.

Try changing your MTU down to 1492, def is 1500 and see if that helps. May not since it works fine on wired.
