    hey guys,

im desperately in need of your expertise.
ive been trying to resolve my wireless issue which simply
went bonkers on me few days ago. it wont want to:

1-detect my wireless automatically (which it should)
    2-laptop wont acquire wireless anymore.
3-its not detecting ANY wireless in range. NONE at all.
4-wireless network tab when missing. (weird)

    ive tried:
    -system restore
    -rebooting my Linksys WRT54G
    -restarting my wireless zero config
-restarting my laptop endless of time
    -refreshing my network connection
-switching on and off my wireless
-reconfigured my linksys admin from factory default
-unsecured my wireless network (thought that ive key in the wrong WEP)

somehow among all that ive done ive solved problem number 3 and 4.
my wireless zero config is running fine, my wireless network
adapter under device manager has no ghost (the exclamation mark icon) ...

and im seriously running out of idea where could the
errors lies so pretty please help....

What operating system are you using? What were you doing when this problem suddenly appeared? Any evidence of malware/spyware/virus?

initially i was having this big problem where
my "wireless network" tab went missing and there
wasnt any wireless in range none at all which is
kinda weird because where i was leaving there are at
least 20 people setting up a secured wireless network.

so i google on how to solve the missing "wireless network" tab
and i found out from most forum that they have something to do
with the "wireless zero config" which could be found under ur device
manager. the steps to wireless zero config is as follow:

    1. click on start
    2. right click on my computer
    3. click on manage
    4. then you will be directed to computer management
    5. under services and application go to services
    6. scroll to look for wireless zero config
    7. ensure that the startup type: automatic
    8. and the service status has started
    9. you can even try to stop and start it again (which i did)

after everything is running fine i check whether
there was something wrong with my inbuilt wireless card
    which you could check through:

    1. click on start
    2. right click on my computer
    3. click on manage
    4. then you will be directed to computer management
    5. under system tools look up for device manager
    6. scroll and look for network adapters
    7. check whether your wireless network adapter has an exclamation mark
    8. if there is there is a need for you update the driver
    9. or change for a new one (consult someone who is knew bout changing it)
    10. if everything is perfectly fine with the network adapter check with the rest of the device manager whether there is any exclamation mark to it and solve the solution first

since i did check both the service and the device manager and
nothing seems wrong with it, i reconfig my linksys, rebooting
the whole router with the help of www.linksys.com to guide me along.

and nothing seem to work so with the help of a friend,
he told me to do a system restore back to the date before
everything when wrong and it somehow help to resolve the
issue of the missing tab and the wireless in range.

    system restore steps:
click on start > all programs> accesories > system tools > system restore.
after which its a wizard so just click on next and follow the instruction.

after all that is done, try removing and adding your wireless network back.
and hopefully your wireless is up and running; hope this somehow helps some fellow out there who encounter the same problems as me.

cheers and have a good day ahead! =)

Ahhh....the power of a System Restore...and people overlook it so many times!...There's a reason Microsoft made this built-in tool you know.
