    I have a Netgear WNR834Bv2 with DD-WRT firmware.

I can only get 130 mbps out of the router.

    What is wrong?

And make sure your router and wireless adapter are set to transmit maximum power.

In order to get 270, 300 or even up into the 6 I believe you need to be running on both the 20mhz and 40 mhz bands.

The 40MHz will give you more bandwidth to reach higher speed. What could be the issue is incompatibility among the wireless adapter and the router, not at the standard level but at the communication chipset level.
