Hello, I was going to buy a home server from HP, but I figured for about $300 (I hope) I could do it myself. I'm not very good at this so could someone let me know if the following will suffice?

    2 1TB drives

    http://www.superwarehouse.com/p.cfm?p=1555299&CMP=KAC-GoogleShopping&sourcecode=SW09W002

    1 drive enclosure

    Copy of Windows Home Server

    My old desktop PC

Would it be possible to simply load WHS onto the PC, plug the drives in via USB, and then plug in my wireless router to the PC? Would it then work as wireless backup for all the computers in the house? Like I said I'm not good at this stuff so I would appreciate any help. Thank you

From what I know about Windows Home Server, that should work. Supposedly, it doesn't matter if the added hard drives are internal or external, they're all added to the same "pool." I don't know how old your computer is, but a celeron or pentium should be able to handle it. I've been considering doing the same thing, so if you try it, holler back with the results!

Thanks, it is a AMD 3400 with 1 GB of RAM, I figure it should be enough, see any reason to put more memory in there?

To be honest, like I was saying I am not very good at this. I thought about that but I didn't think there would be room in there. I've never had the PC open though, I could be wrong. Are there usually two cables in there for multiple drives? Thanks again

I could be wrong, but according to their site SP2 is already out and they are working on SP3
