    HI,
So I just installed win7 RC as dual boot with vista on my asus n20a. In win7 my internet connection is slow and im only getting dl speeds of 7kb/sec while in vista im getting 1mb/sec dl speeds anyone know why this would be? All my drivers are up to date as well as updates for the OS. Any help would be nice this really sucks

If you don't have problems with Vista/XP, then this is an issue only with Windows 7. Did you install your Asus Vista drivers (or Win 7 drivers, if available from Asus)?

Well, when I installed win7 it seems like it automatically installed the drivers as everything is working and what not. When I try to install the drivers from the install disc it says that its not compatible with this version of windows and the drivers are for vista. So I dont really know what to do.

Are your network connections configured as home, work, or public?

One other thing - since laptops can be finicky creatures, you might have to install Vista system software and/or chipset drivers to get things working right. Install them in compatibility mode (you can copy the drivers from your CD/DVD to your local hard drive, then right click on each and select Vista compatibility mode).

Network connections are configured as home. I just tested my connections on speedtest.net and the results are bad really bad. download speed .17Mbps and upload .34Mbps. I really love win7 ,but this is killing it for me.

Do this. Install everything included on your driver disc. Report back with results.

Ok so today at school I tried out win7 and the internet connection is fine and normal, but when I returned home its back to being slow as crap. So im guessing this has something to do with the setup of my home network maybe? Vista still works perfectly fine though. Any ideas guys?

That is most likely the case; any possible culprits that you can think of?
