hey everyone. so my cousin has the win7 ultimate installed on his dell pc. he's really good with computers so he already did all the basic things to fix them. such as reinstall drivers etc. so here is the funny thing...every time he restarts or turns off the computer wont connect to the internet and he needs to unplug the router and everything. really annoying. so any ideas and fixes?

Needing to unplug the router to connect is not the notebooks fault. Is his router going down?

I would delete the wireless connection he set up in Win 7, reset his router to shipped defaults and if it is still doing this; he needs a new router. ;)

Make sure you have updated drivers/firmware for the router. If that doesn't help, the router might just be going bad, which happens frequently.

I'd still try using another computer with the router too, and see if it works ok.

I do encounter some quirks with routers.
So I came out with the conclusion:
When you want to configure the router from the setup page, take all devices offline first.
    Otherwise it will behave strangely.
    So your quick fix is
Take the router offline (Make sure nothing is connected to the router wired as well as wireless)
Use a Pin reset the router (There should be a reset switch)
Use a Ethernet Cable to configure the router before putting it back online(Make sure the computer configuring it is the only device connected to the router during configuration) .
