    am pretty new to laptops and wondering how to use wi fi.

    am using a advent 7016 laptop
    do i need to use a network adaptor or can i just use wi fi to connect to the internet, would it pick my wireless router up and if so how.

    Does your laptop have integrated wireless (or a wireless card)? If it does and you have a wireless router, then you can connect wirelessly.

    You should review your router's instruction manual and your wireless manual. After that, you should look around a little bit in this board, as there are tons of tutorials on how to set up a wireless network.
