Dear Friends, can you help me. Im living with my girl. We have router. And problem is there ,that we connected both with wireless, and i get slow downloading speed. i have tested that she's ACER 2011 model, download 4,9 Mb/s and mine 2012 msi only 2,4 Mb/s . I dont understand where is problem, why i cant download with same 4,9 Mb/s. Updated driver, no luck. even same utorrent version tested same thing.

I would install inSSIDer on both laptops and check the signal strength for both. It's possible the wireless adapter for your girlfriend's notebook is better than the one you have. Are those speeds in Mb or MB, the difference is rather important, b= bits B= bytes. I'm assuming it's in MB/s as per the title. Another potential cause is that you're connected at a lower maximum bandwidth. For example, 2.4MB/s sounds like a wireless G network so it's possible that for some reason, you are connected at wireless G speeds.

It would also help to know which wireless adapter are present in both notebooks, you can see those in the device manager.

Mine network adapter in device manager:
    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 130
Microsoft virtual Wifi miniport adapter #3
Microsoft virtual Wifi miniport adapter #4
    REalter PCIe GBE Family Controler

Girls: Atheros AR5B95 wirelless network adapter

Maybe i should disable all those three exept centrino N, or im screwed to be with 2.4 MB/S

Your wireless card is crap- it's 1x1 adapter capable of up to 150mbps while your girlfriend's Wi-Fi is a 2x2 card caoable of 300mbps so it stands to reason that yours is half the speed.

Yes you can upgrade to any card that id not advertised as meant for Lenovo/IBM or HP.
Any other mini-PCI express card would work.

Intel 6200 would be a good choice.

Yes it will fit. There is a small chance that your notebooks uses a full size mini-PCI Express slot instead of a half-height so open the service hatch and verify it.
If it does you're gonna need an adapter to secure the card.

Which costs next to nothing on eBay. If your laptop was made recently, it's very unlikely that you have a full height adapter instead of a half height. Opening it up won't hurt that is for certain, you'll also be able to check whether you have a second antenna wired in there (i would be surprised if you don't).
