    what is 54g(TM) 802.11b/g w/speedbooster(TM)? How can I check out if the wireless in my notebook is this one?

    It is BroadCom's internal wireless adapter, as opposed to Intel's.

    Go to your Windows Device Manager (find it by right-clicking on My Computer, Properties, Hardware...) Click on Network Adapters.

    Do you see BroadCom? then that's what you have if it is a recently purchased notebook.
