Is there some sort of software I could install that allows me to control various functions of the computer? I'm mainly using it as a storage device and currently uses remote desktop to connect to it. However, I was wondering if there was something like uTorrent's webui or FreeNAS's web interface that I could install on top of XP to control basic functions. I'm going to switch to WHS when the file-corrupting bug is fixed, but right now, I'd rather avoid it.

Considering that most "basic functions" are usually done via GUIs, remote desktop is probably your best (only) bet.

However, maybe it would help if you could define "basic functions" that you want to use?
