    hello
I am trying to share files with my family comp which is xp. I can see the machine in the network map on my vista laptop but can't connect. They are on same workgroup, ip addresses are correct, tried turning off firewalls and still nothing. I then decided to install vista on old comp laying around and it connected to xp machine right away but after a while it has stopped showing it. I can now see that on my vista laptop but not connect. SO it must be something on the laptop seeing other other vista desktop successfully connected. Any suggestions? tried lots of things and nothing. Attached images off what i see

EDIT: laptop won't connect even over crossover cable so something must be blocking it.

Did you turn off IP6 in vista?

Did you setup a safe zone in the firewall for your local subnet?
