Hello all I was wondering if some of you had any experience in this. I have a 3g phone using Sprint. It has bluetooth. I am getting a usb bluetooth dongle for my laptop (good price) and that way I should be able to sync my phone with my laptop. Does anyone have any experience of trying to connect via blue tooth or usb and using just the data plan that has unlimited internet on their phone w/out any extra fees from their carrier?

I would not use it for the main source of the internet, but maybe during lunch for like 20 min or so and I don't want be charged something extra for just using my phone that would already have the internet.

    Any help would be great

What type of phone do you have?

I have Sprint and a Q9C. There is a program called PDANet that will allow you to connect to the internet w/o a PAM contract on you Sprint plan.

Well...I have a Palm Treo 750 with WM 6.0 and a Acer 5920. As both these do have BT, I have paired them and have successfully connected to the net. Pairing was a breeze...literally turn on the BT function on the laptop and the phone and they find each other...then on the phone WM 6 has this 'internet sharing' function, which when activated hooks up the laptop to the net via the phone.

All this may be probably irrelvant to you because you have an iPhone and the systems may be / probably are different...!

    Cheers!

I have looked at a great site I also hang out on - sprintusers.com - and you will need a PAM plan (Phone as Modem - ~$40 - $50/mo) for the Fusic or you will get charges some ungoldly amount for kbs per second otherwise.
