It does not 'stay' when I use windows to configure my network settings.
I have to do this after reboot.

I do this. Go to: Start, run, and type: %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s
Double click on wireless zero configuration.
    Ok.

Then I have to go find wireless network connection properties and put a check mark by 'use windows to configure my network settings'.

    THEN it does it.

After reboot, I have to do this again each time. Why doesn't it 'stick' so I don't have to do it each time????

    THanks.

What kind of wireless card do you have? If you go into the management software included with the card, there should be an option to allow Windows to manage the wireless network. Generally, it will be automatic from that point on.

It is a Dell Wireless WLAN 1350 WLAN Mini-PCI card.
I don't know anything about management software for it.

If you go into Administrative Tool -> Services > Find the Zero Config service and set it to auto launch.

If the Dell utility is loaded you must disable it from loading. You can not have 2 trying to manage the wireless at the same time.
