hey guys, I just bought a sling player (pro version). I get more than enough speed and quality when viewing it at home on my laptop via the sling player like 3000 kpbs, however, when I am reviewing remotely at my father's house, the quality is much less because his upload speed is limited to 385kpbs. Now, he can upgrade it to 1000 kpbs. However, my upload speed at home is also 384kpbs. I can also upgrade it to 1000 kpbs from home. I get such great speed at home because I am not viewing remotely. My question is: Which one needs to be upgraded to 1000 kpbs the upload speed in my house where the sling player is located, or my dad's house?

    Your upload remotely shouldnt matter..

Its your download wherever you are.. and your upload where your slingbox is located.

    So upgrade your homes upload.

The slingbox needs to be able to get data out and you need to be able to pull data down to get its output to put it differently..

    I'll give you another example..
Bring up your connection sometime.. and download a large file or stream music.
You will see recieved going crazy but your sent is slowly just telling the download site you are still getting data and to continue.

I did see something stating to make sure you are running the latest firmware on that Slingbox Pro..
    It will mangle your upload.
Even 300k should get you decent remote service.. not great but decent.
