    Hello,

I recently purchased a Mac Pro Book that came with an AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi wireless network card (based on IEEE 802.11n specification); IEEE 802.11a/b/g compatible.

I was able to receive an Internet connection through airport without hooking up a router to my own cable modem. I assume I was receiving a signal from a neighbor's network but couldn't confirm with the Mac.

There is also a cell phone tower nearby so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Anyway, for various reasons I decided to return the Mac and am in the process of ordering a Dell XPS 15.

The Dell has an option of upgrading the wireless card from a N 1000 to an Advanced N 6200 for 30 bucks extra.

Should I still be able to pick up the signal I had with the Mac using the Dell wireless cards? Would upgrading to the N 6200 make a difference?

Also, I've read elsewhere that 8GB is overkill with this system?

    Thanks

    system I plan on ordering:

It's illegal to use someone else’s Wi-Fi unless it's a public hotspot or you have been explicitly allowed to do so by the owner.
