    I want to know if I am able to upgrade the inbuilt wifi card from the current one (Acer InviLink™ 802.11b/g Wi-Fi CERTIFIED® solution supporting Acer SignalUp™ wireless technology) to a N card.

    The current card has 2 connection points at the top.

    The two cards I am looking at are.....

    is it as simple as old card out new card in? Will I have any compatiblity problems? BIOS problems?

    using vista home basic.

    The card currently in the laptop is a broadcom card.

    I tried installing the Intel wifi 5100 wireless N card (i took it out of another laptop). It came up with error 10.

    installed the drivers, still would not work.

    Got told about a whitelist?
    Is there anyway around the whitelist? And how can I find out what my laptop will accept in the way of wireless cards.

    It is a mini pci-e card.

    Would the laptop accept the broadcom n card more likely over the intel n card?
