I have a notebook that currently has a G internal card.
Can I just upgrade to a wireless N card?
If I understand correctly, the N cards have 3 antennas where the G cards has only 2.
If I just swap the G for a N card, will that work?
thanks

You have to have an N router in order to fully take advantage of the N speeds. Sure you can install an N card in there (given that you're comfortable working on your machine) but it will not really benefit you quite yet untill N becomes mainstream.

Hi Wkeyau1. Yes, you can use a wireless N card, and turn off your laptop internal Card.Make sure, you get the Router/Net card from the same Brand
Like(Netgear/Linksys...) thats the sure bet,If you have any problem , just call Customer support, They will work you through.I just happen to have new Laptop that comes with NetWk/Draft N and I use a network card for my son laptop, and they work fine. Have fun. -
Tek, I belive he's asking if he can replace the internal G card with an N card. Not add an N card to his machine. Thus there is no need for disabling the internal card, because that's where the new N card would be placed in, and the G card would be gone.

What about if I don't want to use an external card?
If I just install an internal N card, how will performance be if there is only 2 antennas...since the original G card has only 2 antennas?
upgrade to wireless n internal card
