I recently tried to install driver version 13.1.1.1 for my card. I do not remember the failure code but I went back to the previous driver. I use drivermax and this had been the only failure. I went to the intel site and looked up the 13.1.1.1 driver there. Instead of it being a little over 3meg it was over 30 meg. I ran the install and is working just fine. When I check the version in the wifi utility it reads 1.3.1.1.0 close enough.

Try downloading it again from the intel website but this time install with the Intel proset utility.

where did you buy the card from? perhaps its a card for IBM/Lenovo or HP's, in which case they won't work in your system.

Dell often locks the card through bios. Odds are you need a Dell card, or you have an HP card which may lock itself out.
