    hi all,

I've been having this problem for about 3 months already. In my home, my laptop can detect 2 wireless routers: mine and my neighbor's. So, about 3 months ago, my laptop's wireless connection got "stuck" on my neighbor's wireless router. It can detect my wireless router, but it just can't connect to it.

I have another laptop, and it can detect and use my wireless router just fine. Is there something wrong with the laptop? What should I do?

    Thanks!

What distance are you from the router?
Look at the routers log and see if it logs the problem.
Make sure your not MAC Filtering.
Delete the connection that is not working.
    Delete your neighbors connection too.
Make sure your router has a unique SSID. If routers name are the same can cause problems.
Under advanced port settings, there is an option to auto connect to any available AP's. You want this un checked, bad security if it jumps on any AP.
Now scan for available connections. If security is set you should be prompted for the auth key/phrase. Once the key is entered it should connect.
If MEII (Vista) disable IP6, causes problems. If it fails on auth, you just need to edit the connection properties and enter the correct key.
