    Okay here is my problem.

Lately I've been watching a lot of South Park and other shows online for free (I think they're called streaming videos). Anyways, I've always done this before without any problems, but lately when I watch South Park, after about 3 or 4 minutes in, my laptop disconnects from the internet, but it is still connected to my router I guess you say (this is wifi, plugged into the wall).

So next I disconnect from my router and reconnect after several seconds, boom I have internet again until I want to watch streaming videos again (online games don't have this problem). Anyone know what's going on? I'm using Mozilla Firefox too.

Kenny is haunting you! kidding... :D

Im trying to think this is a unique situation. Do you have "Limit" on your internet like a cap or something? What i mean is like only 10gb a month 20gb a month and so forth maybe you have passed your usage with all the streaming you have been doing if you dont then it can be other things.

Hmm... I've never heard of "limits" before. I guess I should call Comcast to see if I have one.

these "limits" are usually called FUP ("fair user policy") or something like that. to be honest, i'd translate the "F" with a bit different word... i've recently switched to a different ISP *without* this stupid thing, not because i'd download like crazy, but because i didn't find this (and many other things) rally fair.

Found out that I had a 200MB FAP daily limit with HughesNet the hard way, lol. If you type in your external IP adress into your internet browser (use this to see what it is) look for a FUP or FAP tab.

Well I tried typing my external IP address into my internet browser, but nothing comes up.

My sister came home from college for a bit and with her laptop she is also getting frequent disconnections but she doesn't watch any streaming videos like I do. She may download the occasional file, but other than that she does practically nothing.

I'm going to call Comcast this week to see what's up. Anyone else have any ideas?
