Alright so my cable is connect. Im sending and receiving packets. Using ipconfig iv found that my computer is recognizing my ip. I can even access some internet options like if I play a steam related game like counter strike or day of defeat or if I play EvE online. But then it just cannot connect to a web browser like IE or firefox and it cannot log into other games like world of warcraft or try and log onto AOL instant messenger. Does anyone have ANY idea at all on what could be causing this? it was just working find this morning and out of now where this happened.

not sure what pinging a site is but it does try and load and the connection just ends up timing out before it loads the site. which is different then when i completely disconnect the cable. when i confiig the ip i get:
    connection specific DNS suffix........ villanova.edu
    IP address..........153.104.119.19
    subnet mask..........255.255.252.0
    default gateway..............153.104.116.1

i dont even have a fire wall right now because i reformated my computer hoping it would fix the problem but it didnt

See what values you have for DNS, should be public IP's not private.

Connect to the routers and see what values it has for WAN ISP settings. It should tell you all the good stuff.
