    should I return my router?

    I just received WRT54gs from staples.com. I found out ver.04 which has a lot of complains like ver.05 of WRT54G.

    Should I return or exchange it to different version before I open the box?

    Hmm, i dont think thats right. From my experience, the V 4.0 is better than the 5. I believe on linksys you can open it up and return it within 90 days. But maybe call staples and ask them what there return policy is and then if you can take it back after opening it, i would try the router out.

    Linksys makes pretty good wireless routers if you treat them properly. Don't abuse it with massive p2p connections. I deal with a lot of wireless routers, none of them works perfectly. Some do require power cycle once a while and some require firmware updates. I would definitely try the router out. If you really need help with the router, I suggest you go to dslreports.com and look for better assistance.
