i just reformatted and put pro on there, but now my wireless dont work.. ( dont know if it worked from the get-go).. anyways, my question is... do i need another drivers besides the network driver on dells home page? i know next to nothing about wireless, and dont even know if im in the ballpark of figuring this out

-edit- i went to a nonsecured "linksys" network, and it stayed at the connect screen for a minute, and then nothing..

First verify that your wireless as well as your ethernet driver are installed correctly. To verify this, right click on my computer-->properties-->hardware-->device manager-->network adapters. If you see a yellow question mark beside either the wireless driver or the ethernet driver, the driver is not installed. I'm suggesting to install the ethernet driver because if the wireless driver is installed correctly, you might need to set up your wireless network.

If you driver has a yellow question mark besides it, then reinstall your wireless network driver or your ethernet driver (broadcom 10/100 integrated controller). Make sure you are downloading the correct driver for your wireless. Once you download these files, run them, and you should see your driver installed.

For right now, if you see any other yellow question marks in the network adapter besides the wireless and ethernet, ignore for the moment. Once you get your wireless connection up, you can correct any other driver problems.

I am moving your thread to wireless & networking because you will get more assistance with setting up your wireless network in that forum versus in the Dell forum.

    Good Luck,
    SG
