hey guys, i was thinking of setting up one single media server where all my digital movies, pictures and songs will be stored. now i live in a house which has 3 floors, basement, ground and first. i want to place the media server in the basement and i myself living on the first floor want to access it through a wireless network. Also i would want people living on the ground floor to be able to access it. Now i have the apple wireless router but its range is not enough that if i place it in the basement i get signals on all floors. so i need to increase its range somehow. please if any one knows how to get this done, help me out. thanks.

placing repeaters at different points must be your best way to increase wireless range. you can also change the antenna into a directional high gain antenna but this will reduce the spread of the signals and concentrate it into a single region

pick up a linksys wrt54g and put a modded firmware on it. turn the power up a bit more and your set.

Using repeaters placed at various locations in the house is probably the best way to increase coverage.
