    Alright, here's the deal:

I'm at school right now and I'm connected to their wireless internet (called Saclink). When I got to school this morning, I logged into the system so I can connect onto Saclink, and everything was working fine, fast, and smooth. I put my computer on sleep so I can go to class and open it up quickly to be ready to take notes. After class, I put my laptop to sleep mode and go chill for my break.

Now I'm on my break and my problem is that once the internet is so freaking slow. I don't understand how it could be. When I check my connections, I'm connected to like 4 different kinds of Saclink (Saclink, Saclink 2, Saclink 3, Saclink 4, and unidentified Saclink). When I disconnect from one, it closes all of them. I've restarted and it's still the same slowness. I've shut down, let it rest for 5 minutes, and it's still the same. I've merged all the Saclinks that came up and it worked on only connecting me to one Saclink, but still the same slowness.

What could be making this happen? Thanks for any help/replies/suggestions given.

You school's network is overwhelmed or the ISP is just having a bad day in your neighboorhood.

That, or some schools have a limit to how much you can download before you get bandwidth limited.

WOW, big difference but it sounds like that could be the problem.

It's obvious there are some serious latency issues on that network currently. There's nothing wrong with your laptop, it's the network. Tough through it, or contact your college IT department for a further explanation.

Yea, I'm in class right now and the internet is the fast, smooth, normal as it was this morning...All throughout the day, we get "excellent" connection with Saclink...what I'm thinking it could be is what Lithus said that the network could be overwhelmed, due to all the students on the network at once...I'll give it another couple days to see what if it is due to overwhelm-age of the network...

I did shutdown my laptop 5 minutes before leaving for class and turned it on when I got to class, a total of about 10 minutes being off...and it was fine...so it could be that too, but I'll give it a test within the next couple days to see...
