    I have a netgear WGR614 V6 router

I was using it for around a year in Toronto. Now I am in India. I tried to connect the router to the existing connection but it didnt work.

I am using a compaq R4000 notebook pc.
I can use internet through ethernet from modem but not router. It shows connected but I cannot open any window, not even the router window.

The wireless also works and connects automatically but I cant surf.

    Please help.

Is your router still configured for your Toronto broadband? Connect a LAN cable between your laptop and the router, go into the setup menu on the router, and reset it back to factory.

Try turning your broadband modem and router off, connect all the cables, wait a couple of minutes, turn on the modem, wait a minute, turn on the router, wait a minute, then try to connect wirelessly.

You also might have to clone the MAC address of your laptop to the router to trick the modem into thinking it's still talking with your laptop.
