    how does remote login work? i want to get my laptop to log into a computer in another room so i can use that computer without physically running over to it. is this possible and how would i do it?

    --Inspiron 8600, 1.8 ghz, wsxga+, 60 gb 7200 rpm, 2*512mb pc2700, 128 mb radeon 9600--

    You would use the remote desktop connection software found under accessories --> communications. You need the IP address of the machine you want to connect to.

    I like "Real Vnc." It's a very small program and it's free! Super easy setup makes it worth while to me. You can get it from http://realvnc.com/ You will need the "server" download for the computer that you will be loging into and the "viewer" for the laptop, or whatever computer you will actually be sitting at. Good luck.

    Sharp AL27, Athlon 64 2700+ 60Gb hdd, 512Mb mem, 64Mb vid, superbright lcd. Great choise for business use.
