Guys I need you help, any recommendations on the fastest N router (with AC capability) yet have an excellent range available ?

now before you reprimand me my experience with a pair of used 5th gen AEBS has been so trouble free that I couldn't imagine my life without them (as opposed to resetting a belkin router 5 times a day, messing with tons of options and resetting ASUS routers (all N by the way)

The issue with the AEBS is that in my rental I have cement and tinder blocks and unfortunately the power points are in such a way that the top floor AEBS is needed to supply video chatting and video streaming (720) from my NAS to mobile devices is also due to its location most likely frying my nuts (yes 'm paranoid ;) so I would like to know if something as reliable as a 5th gen AEBS but with a stronger connection for mobile devices on the 1st floor is available?

Oh and I am in Australia so if you know of something in amazon or recommendations of a router in the 140$ aud mark, please help a brother out

Linksys EA6500 is the only router that would fir the bill - it offers better speeds vs attenuation compared to Asus AC66U and is lower priced as of now.
The reason is Linksys is going to discontinue EA6500 as it is "only" AC1750 as opposed to AC1900 that is more popular (yet not batter in any way).

If you can - bet a factory refurbish for 100 USD or thereabouts. It's a good router and its party piece is exactly what you are expecting from a router.

This is triband right, I mean currently I am using an 1103 that was default in my m17 and want to upgrade to AC triband (ergo haven't jumped onto the 7260 band wagon yet)?

    Triband? Only dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) exists.

You seem to be confusing the number of wireless antennae present in the laptop/on the card with the number of bands available.

One has nothing to do with the other. You can run a full-speed "N" with two antennae only.

There are no 3-wire AC cards available right now as far as I know.

Thank you for the recommendation, however all of the useful features this product exhibits are disabled when it works in bridge mode, so sadly after having it for a month, I am having to put it up on fleabay

try an airport extreme out. i have the newest ap extreme with ac. its unbelievable for range and speeds. it's 200 bucks but i think its well worth the money. you could always buy it to try and if you're not satisfied return it without any penalty or restocking fee.

I have the AC version, but I am afraid it's speed-range is quite limited

Really? I'm very happy with it. I'm in a 4800 sq foot house and it's in our furnace room in the basement and reaches the 3rd floor with great strength. If there's a better router than this I'd love to know which so I could try it out.

I have it wirelessly extending my wireless originating from a 5th AEBS because when I tried using the 6th gen it had a worse range than my 5th gen and I am on the first floor

That's odd. I remember having issues with it when I first got it. Randomly losing connection from modem and having to reboot it however the issue is nonexistent after an update from a while back. I might look into getting something new myself. My seem to have performance issues when copying files within the network and watching content from my plex server.
