    2 WRT54G -

one WRT54Gv.5, seems like the wireless module died after 6 months. At first, the wireless would give out when the wired was still working. Resetting the whole router/dsl modem would usually fix it. If not, wait several to tens of minutes and it would come back. Now seems like wireless section totally died!

just bought a WRT54GLv1. Out of the box, seemed to have the same problem with wireless module going out once in a while. Now after about 1 week, seems the wireless module has died altogether.

(no linksys installation programs or wireless card installation programs used, just used WinXP native programs to connect)

Never had this problem before with my DLink b router. Going to send this lattest GL back for refund? Anybody seen this before? Any solutions?

probably some faulty components... linksys are very good routers... i would talk to linksys or the reseller that you bought it from about getting a refund... seems like its defective... or some faulty wiring...

but yea get a refund or buy a new one... dont get the same model though :D

You need to check your power supply, make sure you aren't getting any surges (you are plugging the router into a good powerstrip, right?) and that there isn't any static around as well. Electronics like wireless routers are very sensitive to electrostatic discharge. Where is your router located? Were they both in the same place? It's VERY rare to have two of them both have hardware problems so quickly. I'd suggest investigating the environment you kept them in.
