Hi all --- I'll first admit that I'm a complete neophyte when it comes to bluetooth.

Here's the deal. My laptop (see sig) has bluetooth. I just bought a phone that has bluetooth, and specifically bought a model that can handle FTP transfers via bluetooth, with the idea that I'd be able to transfer pics from my phone to my laptop. The option is available in my phone, but every time I try to send a photo (all saved on my phone as JPGs), the transfer fails.

I CAN transfer vcard info from my phone to my lappy. No problem. I can also transfer vcard into to my phone from my laptop.

I can also transfer .gifs from my laptop to my phone (which show up in the 'my pictures' section of my phone). I've also read, on cnet, that my phone can essentially be used as a usb storage device, if you buy the adaptor that lets you make a direct usb connection.

I CANNOT, as of now, transfer JPGs ---- either from phone to computer, or from computer to phone.

Any thoughts with how I might look into making this work would be excellent ---- links, direct advice, whatever!! Thanks so much!

    I have a LG8700.

I've been toying with things, and now my phone always keeps saying that my computer, as detected, doesn't support image transfers. Before, when it was trying to send images, it kept saying simply that the transfer failed.

I can still transfer gifs to the phone, vcards, but nothing else.

I'm running Vista, by the way.

..oh, I have Verizon. They label the phone as able to do FTP transfers ---- and there's an option to do it in the phone menus too. It's driving me crazy that I can't get it to work!
