the strangest thing, the router is blocking only one website I need to access for work purposes..i've tried all the computers here and each one, all with different versions of browsers, all block that site, so trying the laptop directly with the modem works (but super inconvenient)... i went into the router and don't see anything blocked at all, no isp's listed etc, i tried pinging the site through the router and it wouldn't ping..any help folks? thanks a bunch

i cannot believe you didn't post the site.
If everything else works fine, it has to be something to do with the site. If you don't list the site, how can you expect a good answer? -

Try lowering the MTU in the router to 1492, def is 1500.

Personally, I have never had a case where a poorly set mtu affected ONE website (unless we're talking about a vpn tunnel on the one website).
It won't hurt, but I don't know if it will help. -
What are the DNS settings on the router? Are they given from the ISP?

thanks for your quick answers!
I didn't think the site itself mattered...I can access it from home etc. nothing wrong there on that end, it is the router here that is definitely blocking it because if I hook up directly to the modem I can access it.
I found the MTU it was set to AUTO so i changed it, but it did not fix it.
I was just thinking it might go back to when I tried opening a port for p2p, there were some instructions online how to make sure the port was open, so I think I just added one line under gaming/applications (can't remember all the steps), but since then I unchecked the "enable" thinking that would shut it off but apparently it didn't.. I just fixed the Port Range and now it works
*sigh*
weeks of stress because of my stupidity...I should have backtracked before posting.
thanks all for trying to help! muchly appreciated
