    primary antenna wrt54g v.8

    i've got an extra wrt54g and would like to know which antenna is the primary antenna...i've got a RP-SMA female bulkhead and need to know which antenna to remove and solder this in its place...its for a project...seems like i've read...can't find the article again one of the antenna's is primary while the other is for fine tuning the signal...

    yeah...that's the article i had found...but it really doesn't say for sure which antenna is primary...i see from one of the close up pics of the wrt54g...the antenna solder point is numbered as J5...there is also a J1 not shown in the picture...is it your impression that the J5 is the primary antenna?

    It looks like, but I don't think it should matter, from the receiver perspective, he doesn't know which one is primary or secondary, that's my opinion.

    If you solder the wrong one, and don't get the expected results, then it is not a big deal to undo it and re-start all again, I think.

    maybe i just order another bulkhead and replace them both...or i wonder if a pigtail with both going to one antenna would be better...
