I have an Asus K70IC with an Atheros AR9285 wifi card and want to improve my single range and strength as I travel a lot into remote area where signal might be 1/2 mile away. Will either the powerlink pl-18 or alfa awu036h help in reaching my goals of better range/signal?

The powerlink seems to be the best with 2 9db antennas and the fact that it does N. But I know next to nothing about them and have found little information, so HELP!!!

The first important question is: do you have a router or access point that is capable of transmitting the wireless signal that far? Getting a better adapter won't help at all if your wireless signal can't get there anyways. Half a mile sounds like a lot to ask from any standard router.

There are locations that have a router or access point that are less than 1/2 mile, that is just the worst case. So which of these do you think will do a better job if you have a signal.
