    hi everyone
my high school has pretty good internet connection, but the admin bastard doesn't want me to do anything with the internet except for "educational purposes", and when he failed to force me to do so, he unplugged all the wireless access points in the school. Well, i'm the only one in my school who use wifi so it doesn't hurt him so much. That guy would go to hell for sure, but it's God's problem. My problem is that i'm looking for a pocket wireless router that can run on battery (so that i can move around without trying to find a plug). Anyone has a suggestion?
    Thanks in advance

You could probably use a Linksys Travel Router w/ thier Power Over Ethernet adpater.

    Just a thought....

Most of the routers run on 12 v or less, you could build yourself a battery pack.

unfortunately i don't know anything about building a battery pack :(, and i need it to run for hours, so a home-made battery pack can't do that :(

You would be surprised how long they will run on these sealed Gel cell batteries. I use to do field work, it was the only way I could run some of my equipment. For a example, lets make it easy, your router uses 12 vdc 1 amp. You pick up a small gel cell battery that has 12v, 6 amp rating, that will be good for 5+ hr on a full charge. All you need is the power connector, wire and 2 spade connectors to connect to the battery. And a 12 v battery charger to charge it over night. All can be picked up from radio shack.

Well, maybe if you had played by the rules he set down for the network he's responsible for, he might not've turned off the wireless access to the network he's responsible for.

But then again, kids know everything, don't they?
