i'm connected to my network wirelessly on my laptop. i've seen that when the home phone rings and i pick it up and talk on it, the laptop loses its connection to the network. this doesn't happen when i'm using my cell phone. is this normal or is there some way to fix it?

    Change your router's wireless channel.

Or change your phone if it's a 2.4ghz type - that's the same frequency that wireless a/b/g uses.

Review your router's manual. It's usually a setting in the wireless tab on your router's control panel.

Your wireless router ip address usaully is 192.168.x.x you can probally get it from your manual that came with your router or be accessed by going to your routers web page.Or just like jujube and kegobeer said change the channel or get a lower or higher GHz phone.

yeah either change the routers channel or better yet buy a new phone. That will be your best bet. Most default routers are 192.168.0.0, 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 . My WAP from linksys has a 192.168.1.245 default but its all in the documentation. What brand do you have?

Buy a 5GHz cordless phone, or go back to corded.
