    orinoco 8410 vs. 8420

    What's the difference, I'm too tired and it's too late to research this. I'm aiming for the 8420, unless the 8410 is 'just as good'.

    Your better off getting a name brand card like Linksys or Netgear. Are you in need of an Internal (inside) or external (Outside the laptop in the PCI slot).

    You are the only guy I know that would suggest a Netgear or Linksys card over an Orinoco card.........

    I don't know the difference either, but I do know this - they are better than the linksys. I use the Proxim Orinoco Gold 8420-wd pcmcia card and have never had a problem with it. It picks up better in fringe areas that the linksys had a problem picking up. I've had mine for 9 months.

    Sorry about that fredman,
    The 8420 seems like the better option for just having wireless. The 8410 for some reason was higher in price, and to network and save money, i would go with the 8420. Hope that helped.

    IMHO, the Orinocos are second only to the Senao/Engenius, but then you're talking a lot more money.
