i'm not sure if this goes here, but my other thread was left unanswered.
i'm trying to open some ports through my firewall to play fifa 08 online. there are 6 all together, and i can put in 4, except the remaining 2 have port numbers like this
    13500-13599
    35000-35099
whenever i try to type in the numbers, it says i can't use a hyphen. what do i do?

Those are port ranges. For example, 13500-13599 is actually ports: 13500, 13501, 13502, etc...

To quote Nizzy, what make and model is your router? Some routers let you put in a range instead of one specific port number.

my router is a Netgear cg814wg, but i have no idea on how to access ports or anything concerning my router.
in the fifa manual, it said i needed to configure my firewall (i'm using vista's default), but if the problem is my router than that would explain a lot too

Think somebody else with Comcast Cable internet should help seabass. The manual doesn't tell how to open ports through their firewall.

You have to log in your router and enable the appropriate pots, but if you don't answer the questions of the people who are supposed to help you, they won't be able to help you, so help them to help you is the process.

Now that they know router model wait for Wacky and nizzy instructions and apply them, then we will pass to the next step.

My post came after you gave your router model, which was asked by the other members but you weren't giving it.

Don't worry, we'll help you to find the way, as I said you need to log in your router, have you done it before?

No i've never done it before. but i found out i need my user name and password, but i don't know them. so i talked to a comcast rep, but she couldn't help me figure out what my info was because my family's comcast account isn't under my name. so when my mom gets home, then i'll be able to fix this whole darn mess. but thanks everyone! rep points for all
