all in one router with built in wireless.. im not using the built in wireless since we have n based routers instead of g ones. so i want to use my buffalo router as my wireless connection. ive turned off the built in wireless in the actiontec and i CAN NOT get the buffalo to work with the stinking actiontec... no matter what i do the internet connection drops off unless in simply unplug the ethernet cable for the buffalo from the actiontec??? can anyone help please???? thanks

also this buffalo can be used as a access point or a bridge.... so either way will work. thanks again..

I have been on FIOS for over a year now. Are you just having problem with the wireless or all internet access.

You can set the Actiontec up as a bridge all services should be passed to the buffalo. If it's just the wireless, turning off the radio should have worked. If it was me you can increase your security by connecting the buffalo to the actiontec. My neighbor just got his installed on tuesday. We have his router behind the actiontec and working fine. Mine is the other way. I have my router in front, needed VPN endpoint router.

please help me out then... i for anything can not get the buffalo to work with the actiontec. the one big issue is that i am on moca (rg6 only) they do not install cat5 here anymore everything is done through the rg6 now. they said they can come out and switch me to cat 5 but then i loose the rg6 for my fios tv. and the main issue is if i set up the actiontec as a bridge i was told by everyone i will loose my guide and vod features with fios tv, if i dont have to run cat5 that would be fine but imo that may be what i need to do.

i also can not set up the actiontec as a bridge it just does not want to work for me. basically i just want the actiontec to handle the vod and guide info for the tv's and pass the internet through the wan port to my buffalo, then that will go out to my computer from there and also be my wireless point as well.

if you can help that would be awesome it would save me some money as now they said they want to charge me to come out and change me over to cat5.. thanks in advance for any help

also basically no matter what i do when i plug the buffalo into a lan port on the actiontec i loose internet connection.

    z,
I just got FIOS myself. I got the triple play package.
The Actiontec I got was already in bridge mode, connected via coax.
    I have the DLink DGL4300.
I plugged the Dlink WAN port the the LOCAL area port on the Actiontec.
The only thing I changed on the Actiontec was to turn off the wireless.

I set the DLink to DHCP mode.

Now the computers can access the Internet via the DLink.
The Settop Boxes access Verizon via the Actiontec.

    1. Connect your routers WAN port to the LOCAL port on the Actiontec.
    2. make sure the IP addresses for the Actiontec is 192.168.1.x.
    3. make sure your routers IP addresses are 192.168.0.x.
    4. set your router to DHCP mode.

Do not forget I only turned off the wireless on the Actiontec, if you made other changes this may not work.
Good luck if this works for you rep me ;)

I would do a reset to factory if your having problem. What bear said should work.

They say you don't want to change the default subnet. It does not matter you can change it but not necessary. They bridge the connections from the cable to the internet side. As long as you change the PW your are ok. If you having problems reset the buffalo to factory. It's possiable your previous settings is not compatiable with fios, reseting it will fix it.
