    Hi,

    I'm going to have SBC DSL at my house now. Do I have to connect my wireless router and SBC DSL modem into a computer or can I just have them independent of the computer?

    Internet -> Modem -> Router.

    You don't need to have a computer hard-wired to your router in order to host a wireless network :)

    wireless router connects directly to modem then you connect wired or wirelessly whatever else you need connected

    You hook the wireless router to the DSL modem coming into your home or office and set it up independent from the computer (unless your talking about advanced stuff). A wired router would be no different in this aspect. Then you can connected it via Cat 5e or Cat 6 to the NIC of any computer that needs a wired connection and just rove around with a laptop or another device with a wireless car picking up the signal.
