    hi guys

i havent been an;e to use wired internet for a while but my wifi seems very much ok.
im not sure if this problem started when i changed my password or when i updated my nic , since i seldom use wired connections anymore.
i have a hunch that its because i changed my password but i cant figure out how to change the password for wired internet connections and im no newbie.
    vista networking sucks...

    any help would be appreciated

I doubt if you need the wi-fi encryption key for a wired connection (I'm assuming that you're plugging your ethernet cable into the backside of your wireless router), so that is unlikely to be the problem. If you cannot remember the pass-phrase, you could always go into the router, turn off encryption for the nonce to see if that has any effect on your wired connection, and then reset it with a new pass-phrase that you will remember.

Did you update with the right network driver? and did you mess with any other settings on the router and computer?

Try resetting the router. Press the reset button on the router.
