    this belkin guide is really bugging me, i need a wireless router that will give good signal strength throughout my entire home, do i really need 'g+mimo' or will 'g' do the trick?

    G will do it. I have wireless b and it runs throughout my house, including the yard. I think the guide is trying to get people to buy the most expensive router thinking that the basic ones won't perform. They will.

    yes, the g band is already very well tested and works great. don't let them fool you with the newer stuff that you don't really need. i have a basic G router that works throughout my house and when i go over to my friend's he has a b router that works even on top of his furnished garage which is about 50 feet behind the house.

    Get a Linksys WRT54GL. It's the embedded Linux version, far superior to the WRT54G's you'll find in retail stores. There are 9dBi antenna upgrades available on eBay and elsewhere if you need more range.
