The wireless card in the laptop does not support b, otherwise it will state Intel abgn.

someone correct me if I am wrong.

would it work if I could find a ethernet cord and connect my router to my laptop?

Yes, I don't think you should have a problem if it is connected directly by Ethernet cable ;).

Even though ur router is wireless B, the laptop should be able to connect to it. 802.11 G is backwards compatible w/ B so it should work.

What OS are u running? You will need to get into Device Manager and set ur WiFi adapter card to "Mixed mode" or "B mode" if it has that option.
