Hi. i've js bought this laptop and it has a Ralink wireless card. my problem is that it constantly drops WiFi when using public networks or it can't properly connect to them at all. when using the router @ home this problem doesn't pop up unless im a bit too far from the router. im the onli one who has this problem and its very limiting as i need to have the net while on the go. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

well when i checked the wireless card to see if i had the latest drivers it said i did so i didn't d/l any of those. i had visited the Ralink site but wasn't sure of what drivers were for me. meaning when i looked @ the device name :
802.11 bgn 1T2R Mini Card Wireless Adaptor
i didn't see any drivers there that matched the name. i may be mistaken about the name as im new to this but thats what's in the device manager.

Looks like you have the RT2860 based WLAN chipset.
Grab the drivers from above link for the 2860.
Just run the file it will update driver and install a nifty Client Utility.

Odd, as I have a RT2860 based card as well and do not have range or connecting to other networks problems

    Hmm, out of ideas now.
