my roommate's girlfriend just got a new HP laptop with a built in intel 3945abg wireless adapter and i'm having a heck of a time getting it to connect to my linksys router.

the router is a wrt54g v3.1 running dd-wrt v23sp2. i can connect to it just fine from my desktop pc using a linksys wusb54g adapter. the strange thing is that when i 'view available wireless networks' on the HP laptop it doesn't even see my router that is 2 meters away, yet it sees other wireless networks in range.

i've read that intel adapters have issues connecting to linksys routers...is there any way to fix this?

Security settings? If the router is not set to broadcast your SSID, you won`t see it while scanning. Just copy the settings from your adapter to her notebook. Are you sure you have the security keys right?

Then again, I could have it all wrong. Not my area of expertise :D

Or use add a network connection. Enter the SSID of your router, then enter the pass-key.
