I don't know how many people are aware of this, but Intel quietly released an update to the 64-bit Vista drivers for this card

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...2&DwnldID=17542&strOSs=162&OSFullName=Windows Vista* Ultimate, 64-bit version&lang=eng

It seems there are always posts on this forum regarding issues with this adapter, so it might be worth a try to upgrade.

In the two days I have been using them I've noticed several significant improvements, including a something that has plagued me for months--specifically, after reboot the adapter cannot connect to a wireless connection that worked fine minutes ago.

Another issue I have seen is a dramatic boot speed improvement. Whenever the above problem occured, it seemed my notebook took 10 to 15 seconds longer to boot up

I've had the long reboots ever since I installed OS and the drivers for the laptop in January. I didn't really attribute it to anything in particular, but after installing these drivers two days ago my laptop boot time decreased by 10-15 seconds.

I wasn't even aware that it was taking "long" to boot...I just thought 1 minute was OK considering all the junk I have loading. I was surprised when, after installing these drivers, it suddenly rebooted in 45 seconds.

Incidently--I have the same laptop as you so it may be related to our hardware....

    Good find!

It's a little pathetic how some of this stuff is snuck out by some manufacturers - like a little child trying to hide his/her guilt by trying to slip some stolen trinket back where it belonged - the upshot of which is that not all affected users may be aware that the fix is available.
