I have a dv6448se connected to DSL through a WRT54GL wireless router. I pretty much have the basic settings. Sometimes when the computer is coming out of ahibernate or sleep mode it takes a while to get the connection back. Sometime it connects to an unidentified network or it turns my private connection to a public with limited access. Eventually I can get the connection to work but sometimes I need to reset the modem. Is this normal? Is there a setting the will minimize this issue?

Not Normal. Make sure you have your pc set "Not to connect to non prefered connections". This change alone may help.

You may want to switch over to the dd-wrt firmware if you are still having problems. But first make sure you are use the latest firmware in your router and drivers in your nb. If that does not work switch to the dd-wrt firmware. That is the main reason you bought a GL.
