This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I got some free netgear router and I have a motorola modem. My question is since i dont have a spare ethernet cord[modem connected b usb to desktop] can i still get this up and running or do i have to buy an ethernet cord to get the whole thing up and running.

    You may just have to go out and buy one, they are very cheap though and you don't have to buy a very long one if you are planning on keeping the two together. Not too sure if a USB connection would work from the Modem to the router since the router does not have a USB connection.

    You need a ethernet cord to connect the modem and the router togethor. Router isn't connected to the modem, no internet then
