In order to make it work as a switch you need to disable DHCP on it. Assign a Static IP to the router, outside of the DHCP range of the 3com, this allows you to log into it for admin. Then connect lan to lan.

You will need to connect via lan to the wrt54g to make the changes.

thanks i made it work by connecting the 3com port to the internet port at the linksys ,then using the CD to configure automatically , and after that everything worked , until linksys after 30 min started freezing (and won't work without a hard reset ) , this happened like 4 or 5 times in 2 hours , it appears that i got a faulty unit , and i ll be sending it for replacement :S

You do not want to use the Internet port unless there is a setting to change every thing over to an AP/switch.

Your freezing may be do to IP Conflict if you did not follow my directions.

there was no ip conflict cause my pc was the only one connected when testing , and i know how to avoid IP conflict , anyway i got it replaced and got a netgear , netgear is alot better than the linksys model i got , better wireless range / more options , cheaper :D
