What is showing for the WiFi icon in the taskbar down by the clock.

All white bars means a good connection.

Put your mouse curser on the icon and choose your SSID.

    Enter your passkey if needed.

How's your router setup and settings?

Different SSID for 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands?

    Security set to WPA2 AES?

    Secure passkey?

Best channels selected.Install the FREE inSSIDer program to view channels being used by other networks and to see your connection strength.

Make sure your machine is not set to automatically disable the wifi adapter for power management in device manager. I had mine turned off by the OS before because of that.
